  1. A Child

Dear Father, please direct me how I can be of any practical help, especially for children in need. Show me what I can do, how I can pray or give. Help me to recognize You when You come into my life, even as a child, a stranger, someone I wouldn’t consider naturally. I don’t want to miss You Lord! Renew me from within, open my heart and eyes and teach me to see things the way You see them, and to be sensitive to promptings from Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name, amen!

Please always give me discernment and wisdom, and an open heart and mind to recognize You when You choose to reveal Yourself in a disguised way. In Jesus’ Name, amen!

  3. The Carpenter’s Son

Dear Father, I pray You’ll open my eyes, through the Holy Spirit, to see Jesus for Who He really is. I realize I usually look through my natural eyes, and in the wrong direction. Change my from within, and help me to recognize You, even when it might be difficult to see You. Lord, I long to have Your character, even if that means that, for the world, I may look not esteemed or important. I know You do not look for the outside, but for the inside. So please help me, Lord, to genuinely search for You as You are. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Lord, I pray You’ll give me this grace of a broken spirit and a contrite heart, because it is pleasing to You. Deliver me from arrogance, and self-dependence, and teach me to know You as You are. Help me understand what You are looking for in me, in Jesus’ Name, amen.
